AMD today highlighted historic leaps in computing, gaming and visualization technologies expected in 2019 based on a combination of leading-edge 7nm technology and the most advanced computing and graphics designs the company has ever created. During her CES 2019 keynote presentation, AMD President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su announced the world's first 7nm gaming graphics processing unit (GPU), AMD Radeon VII; detailed the world's fastest processor for ultrathin laptops, 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen Mobile processors and 3rd Gen Ryzne processors

With the reveal of AMD's next-generation Zen 2 CPU core soon approaching, the latest rumors have revealed that Radeon Technologies Group already received one sample for optimizations. The rumor comes from a forum member at HardOCP who's known to have some reputation on the forums when it comes to AMD related leaks.

Hours ago Scott Herkelman, Corporate VP and General Manager of AMD Radeon Gaming, addressed AMD resellers via Twitter, not only acknowledging the anti-competitive tactics Nvidia has leveraged against them, but inviting others to share their stories.

When Intel and AMD announced they'd be cooperating on a new CPU with an Intel processor paired with an AMD GPU, it was easy to see who the loser was going to be. Nvidia has a dominant overall position in the GPU market, including the types of all-in-one and small form factor systems that might opt for one of Intel's new CPUs with Radeon RX Vega graphics rather than an Intel CPU with Nvidia GPU. Now, there's hints that Nvidia is planning to respond with a new GPU iteration of its own: The GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q.

Atari was set to kick off a crowdfunding campaign today on Indiegogo for its Ataribox, a PC tech-based game console powered by a custom AMD processor with Radeon graphics, running Linux. The company even sent out a reminder this past Monday, saying it will offer a limited number of discounted units when preorders go live. But then this morning Atari put the word out that it's delaying the launch. Why? That's a good question.

AMD has introduced XConnect, a form of driver-level support for external graphics cards, as part of its latest Radeon 16.3 driver. XConnect allows users to add and remove a Thunderbolt 3 external graphics device (eGFX) such as the Razer Core, without needing to restart the PC, as well as switch between discrete and integrated graphics on-the-fly.
