Taiwan market: WiMAX operator Global Mobile obtains NT$640 million loan

Global Mobile, a WiMAX operator in northern Taiwan, on May 21 announced that it has obtained a 5-year syndicated loan of NT$640 million (US$21.7 million) from seven local banks, with the fund to be used to establish its WiMAX network. Global Mobile keeps expanding its WiMAX network, aiming to cover 70% of its market area by the end of 2012 and increase the penetration to 90% by 2014 and attain 1.5 million subscribers by 2017, according to the company.
