Global LCD monitors totaled 131 million units in 2006, up 23.4% from 106.08 million in 2005, according to the accumulated quarterly updates from DisplaySearch. The 17-inch segment was still the mainstream size in 2006 with half of the overall market share, though the 19-inch segment saw its market share increase to 24.7% for the year, the research firm added.
