LCD backlight LEDs to reach 34 billion units in 2012, says DisplaySearch

In 2012, 34 billion LEDs will be used in TFT-LCD backlights, in sizes ranging from 1-inch to more than 70-inch, up more than 300% from eight billion units in 2008, according to DisplaySearch.
