Alpha Networks, following the lead of fellow companies Gemtek Technology and Sercomm, has come out with 3G femtocell base stations with volume shipments likely to begin in early 2011.
Alpha Networks has delivered its household-use femtocell devices to clients for testing, and the company will begin to develop business-class femtocell equipment as well as integrated access devices (IADs), according to the company.
In other news, Gemtek expects its shipments of femtocell devices to reach 50,000-100,000 units a month in the fourth quarter. Sercomm is expected to ship 100,000-200,000 femtocells in the fourth quarter, according to an estimate by industry sources.
Sercomm is likely to see its revenues grow by a double-digit rate sequentially in the fourth quarter, buoyed by increasing shipments of femtocell equipment, the sources added.
