The return of demand has been showing signs of cooling in August not only for mainstream poly-crystalline silicon solar products but also for the mono-crystalline market, said industry sources.

At the end of the second quarter and beginning of the third, the price of 6-inch mono-crystalline silicon solar wafers increased slightly to US$2.5-2.6/unit.

The price of mono-crystalline silicon wafers has fallen back to the previous level of US$2.4-2.5/unit in August, according to China-based solar firms.

China continues to be the largest provider of mono-crystalline silicon. China-based industry leading firms include Shanghai Jinglong Solar, Solargiga Energy, and Comtec Solar System.
