Taiwan market: Smartphones account for 50% of handset shipments in 2Q11, says IDC

Smartphone shipments in the Taiwan market were up 145% on year to 990,000 units in the second quarter of 2011, accounting for over 50% of all handset shipments in the quarter, according to data released by IDC.
