Packaging material supplier Chang Wah Electromaterials is expected to continue to post strong sales in the fourth quarter of 2012 thanks to brisk demand coming from the handset and flat panel sectors, according to industry sources.
Chang Wah saw its revenues hit a record high of NT$4.36 billion (US$150 million) in the third quarter. The quarterly figures also represented a rise of 10.5% sequentially.
The prospects for Chang Wah will remain bright in the fourth quarter as the company has begun shipping semi-additive COF (chip on film) related package materials for high-end mobile devices instead of its previous focus on reel-to-reel COF products for LCD driver ICs, the sources indicated.
Chang Wah posted net profits of NT$393 million or NT$6.07 per share for the first three quarter of 2012, according to company data.
