GaAs foundry Win Semiconductors and Visual Photonics Epitaxy Company (VPEC), a supplier of GaAs epi-wafers, have both reported sequential growth in sales for December 2012.
Consolidated sales at Win Semi increased 1.5% sequentially in December, while VPEC's revenues witnessed a robust growth of 18.4% on month, according to financial data released by the companies.
VPEC's customers, including Win Semi, has stepped up their pace of orders, market observers believe. The order momentum is expected to remain brisk to sustain the wafer maker's sales growth in the following month, the observers indicated.
Similar to its performance a year ago, VPEC's sales for the first quarter of 2013 are set to buck seasonal trends, the observers said.
Nevertheless, VPEC's revenues increased only 4.5% to NT$2.25 billion in 2012. Consolidated sales at Win Semi climbed by a larger 26.3% to NT$11.24 billion during the same period.
