Apple has just released its new iPhones and smartwatch, and its next-generation AirPods is likely to be available soon. Supply chain sources have disclosed that ODMs will begin mass assembly of the new AirPods as early as October to meet year-end shopping season demand. While it remains to be seen how well the new iPhones may be selling, chip supplier MediaTek in the Android camp sees robust sales at the moment, thanks to demand from major Chinese smartphone vendors for its midrange SoCs. MediaTek receives major backend support from ASE Technology Holding, which is expected to see significant sales through the end of the year, driven by orders from the smartphones and wearables sectors.
