Garmin has launched a fitness band (smart pedometer bracelet), Vivofit, in the Taiwan market.

Vivofit can record users' step counts, walking distance and calories burned in daytime as well as monitor users' sleep in night, Garmin said. The wearable device support continued 24-hour use for one year, Garmin said.

Vivofit can recommend starting goals for fitness activities based on users' sex, age and height and gradually upward adjust the goals, Garmin noted. Users can connect to Garmin Connect, Garmin's cloud computing-based sports social networking website, to browse conditions about personal activities.
