Digitimes Research: Taiwan makers 2H12 digital camera shipments to fall 21.7% on year

Ability Enterprise, Altek, Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) and Asia Optical will ship a total of 21.738 million digital cameras in second-half 2012, decreasing by 21.7% on year and by 0.8% from first half 2012, according to forecast by Digitimes Research.

Ability Enterprise will account for 48.3% of the second-half 2012 total shipments, followed by Altek with 27.3%, Foxconn with 18.6% and Asia Optical with 5.8%.

Among international vendors, Nikon will be the largest client taking up 35.7% of the total shipments, followed by Fujifilm with 21.6%, Olympus with 13.8%, Casio with 6.2%, Samsung Electronics with 5.6% and Sony with 4.5%.
