Taiwan-based makers shipped 376.793 million small- to medium-size TFT-LCD panels during the third quarter of 2012, increasing by 8.4% on quarter but decreasing by 18.0% on year, according to Digitimes Research.

Of the panels, 86.1% were based on a-Si TFT-LCD process and 13.9% on LTPS TFT-LCD process. In terms of application, 78% of the panels were used in handsets, 7.4% in digital cameras, 2.7% in in-car devices, 2.1% in GPS PNDs and 1.6% in tablets.
