TI and Clientron team up to develop the DM8148 applications processor-based Thin Client Reference Design

Clientron Corp., a world-leading supplier of thin client and embedded systems, in collaboration with Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI), debuts it first TI SoC (System-on-Chip) based Thin Client Platform D500. Equipped with TI TMS320DM8148 (DM8148) applications processor, D500 provides dual HD display output on a single SoC and critical performance and power value advantages for Cloud Computing Virtual Desktops.

The Clientron Thin Client D500, based on TI's DM8148 SoC, includes the features of 1GHz ARM CPU, VDI co-processor, HD video accelerator, dual HD displays and the support of all major VDI protocols. With TI's DSP co-processor, D500's VDI performances is accelerated using TI's DSP co-processor, achieving unmatched performance and flexibility at low power consumption.
