LED packaging service provider Everlight Electronics has disclosed it has become a partner for ISELED Alliance, an open alliance formed in 2016 to boost development of smart RGB LED lighting technology and solutions for automotive interior lighting.
Everlight, specifically for partnership with ISELED Alliance, in third-quarter 2019 introduced new-generation LED automotive interior smart ambient lighting devices equipped with embedded smart ICs to adjust color locations and brightness of LED chips. Everlight said it also introduced several models of infrared LED devices for recognizing drivers' faces to detect their fatigue.
Everlight has begun production of mini LED devices for backlighting gaming LCD monitors and notebooks, and for automotive displays and lamps, Everlight chairman Robert Yeh indicated.
LED epitaxial wafer and chip maker Epistar has also received orders for LED chips for lighting products from US-based LED lighting vendors who shifted orders from China-based makers because of an increase in US tariff from 10% to 25%, industry sources said.
