MSI taking motherboard and graphics card market by storm

Press release

Following record sales in motherboards and graphics cards in 2010, MSI is confident that the trend will continue throughout 2011. In addition, with the arrival of Intel's new Sandy Bridge architecture, MSI has implemented its unprecedented high-end technology integration strategy.

First of all, its highly talented and experienced R&D team has succeeded in taking MSI's already unmatched motherboards and graphics cards to even higher levels, enhancing durability, technology, and specs with Military Class II materials and components, OC Genie II, and Afterburner overclocking software and incorporating more of MSI's own innovative technologies. The resultant medium-range and high-end graphics cards, such as the Big Bang-Marshall, the mid-tier and high-end P67 and H67 Series, as well as the Lightning, Hawk, Cyclone II, and Twin Frozr III Series, were well received when unveiled at the CES exhibition, winning over demanding consumers that appreciate the rich array of quality functions. Furthermore, in 2011, MSI has set its sights on the mid-range to high-end market, which includes competitors like Asus and Gigabyte, and developed a complete motherboard and graphics card line for it. MSI will be working to carve out a larger share of the market, so expect to see another white-hot battle this year on the mid/high-end motherboard and graphics card market.

As one of the top-three brand names on the market, MSI will be strutting its stuff in 2011 as it rolls out the finest motherboards and graphics cards on the market. Products include the P67 and H67 motherboard series which pack Intel's new generation Sandy Bridge chipset; the mid-range/high-end series motherboard series, consisting of the P67A-GD65, P67A-GD55, P67A-GD53, H67MA-ED55, and H67MA-ED45, all featuring Military Class II materials and components; and the high-end P67A Series, which sports OC Genie II and is characterized by superior quality, superior stability, and superior performance. A number of exclusive technologies have also been incorporated into the P67/H67 motherboard series. These include Control Center II's Instant OC, Super Charger technology which accelerates the recharging of smartphones, like iPads and iPhones, the Winki 3 OS which lets users surf and talk over the Internet without going into Windows, cinema-grade THX TruStudio PRO wrap around sound technology, as well as USB3.0 and the SATA 6Gb/s standard which greatly accelerate file transmission speeds.

In the area of top-end flagship motherboards, the Big Bang-Marshall caught the media's eye at the 2011 CES exhibition in the US. MSI's top motherboard, it was designed with the most serious of gaming enthusiasts in mind. The entire product consists of Military Class II materials, 8 PCIe X16 slots, as well as the overclocking technologies and convenient functions of MSI motherboards mentioned above. It stands alone on the market.

As to graphics cards, MSI has unveiled its flagship dual-card N580GTX Lightning and R6970 Lightning products with next-generation performance. They pack Nvidia and AMD's top GPUs, respectively. Like the earlier generation of Lightning cards, they employ advanced Power4 architecture, Military Class II materials and components, and MSI's Afterburner overclocking software to further enhance the overall stability while overclocking. The new generation Lightning Series also features overclocking with MSI's unique triple overvoltage function which allows the graphics card to truly unleash its performance potential. It also comes with the advanced Twin Frozr III cooling system, dual 9cm cooling fans, and SuperPipe design for exceptional cooling. MSI is confident that its Lightning Series, which approaches perfection in terms of heat dissipation, materials, and power design, represent another performance milestone for single GPU products. Also worth note, the MSIN460GTX Hawk is the only single GPU card to be awarded the CES 2011 Design & Engineering Showcase Honor - an affirmation by organizers of MSI's hard work in the areas of innovation and R&D.

MSI is pulling all the stops in 2011 as it strives to reach new heights in the motherboard and graphics card market. Not only will it come out on top in terms of sales on this increasingly important market, it expects to win over diehard Asus and Gigabyte devotees with the superior quality of materials, new technologies, and abundant functions featured in its products. It also looks forward to topping its own sales records on the motherboard and graphics card market.
