In the 2023 COMPUTEX Product Showcase, JMicron Technology Corp., a leading provider of high-speed interfaces bridge controllers, and its wholly-owned subsidiary KaiKuTeK Inc., showcased its new ultra-fast storage bridge controller solutions and also unveiled the world's first single-chip solution of radar-based in-air gesture recognition - K60168. By exhibiting a variety of end products and prototype designs with their customers and partners, JMicron and KaiKuTeK disclosed the next generation of external storage devices and build a brand new user daily life experience via radar-based in-air gesture recognition.
The showcased products at this exhibition feature radar-based in-air gesture recognition and focus on various smart applications, such as true wireless stereo (TWS), smart desk lamps, and smart water dispensers that incorporate in-air gesture recognition technology, as well as contactless object detection and vital sign solutions. These are all promising applications in diverse fields for KaiKuTeK's radar gesture recognition sensor technology. Overall, the trend toward millimeter-wave radar gesture recognition technology is expected to grow in the coming years, especially as more industries and applications begin to use this technology. We will see a wide range of innovative products and services that allow users to interact with their devices in new and exciting ways.
"We dedicated ourselves to the research and development of millimeter-wave radar, AI/ML technology, antenna design, in-air gesture recognition, etc. Its K60168 integrates mmWave radar, self-designed antennas, AI accelerators, and an MCU into a small chip form factor, called AiP (Antenna in Package). KaiKuTeK expects to apply our radar-based in-air gesture recognition technology to various fields such as industrial, automotive, consumer electronics, and the Internet of Things. KaiKuTeK aims to provide a whole new user experience in human-machine interaction by utilizing radar sensing and sensor-side computing capabilities." said Mike Wang, KaiKuTeK's GM.
In addition, the demonstration of high-speed storage bridge controller solution includes consumer high-speed storage, portable multimedia backup, and RAID. "We display JMS581DC (USB 3.2 Gen2x1 to PCIe/SATA) dual interface ports solution, JMS581DL (USB 3.2 Gen2x1 to PCIe/SATA) dual interface in a single ports solution, JMS586R (USB 3.2 Gen2x2 to 2 ports PCIe Gen3x2) NVMe SSD RAID solution, JMS586U (USB 3.2 Gen2x2 to 2 ports PCIe Gen3x2) NVMe SSD drive CLONE solution, and the next-generation of RAID 5 solution, JMS591 (USB 3.2 Gen2x2 to 5 ports SATA). JMicron, a market leader with solid technical foundation, continually develops and cooperates with multiple leading companies of the next-generation high-speed storage bridge controller, and together we are setting the trend and creating new opportunities in the high-speed storage market." said Tony Lin, JMicron's VP of Marketing & Sales Center.
