LCD panel makers’ increased capacities at their next-generation fabs boosted the growth of Taiwan-based LCD components suppliers in 2005. The backlight unit (BLU) and color filter sectors had stronger growth than the polarizer sector, which came under strong competition from Japan and Korea makers.
