Although the first quarter is the traditional slow season for the small-to-mid-size TFT LCD industry, Taiwan’s small-to-mid-size TFT LCD shipments were not affected by seasonality, as demand for handset-use TFT LCD panels was strong, while shipments for car-use display and portable DVD player-use panels also increased. Overall shipments grew 25% sequentially to 42.72 million units in the first quarter of 2006.Table of contents
