Prosecutors raid UMC offices; rumored to be related to ProMOS insider trading

Prosecutors raided the offices of United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) on August 27. Industry sources suspect that the raid was part of an investigation into possible violations of securities trading laws related to ProMOS Technologies.
