Taiwan-based Digital TV modulator chip design house, VATek, plans to introduce a new development kit for Digital TV Head-end products during the COMPUTEX exhibition. VATek understand that next generation of digital TV head-end products should be easy to develop and cost effective. Integrated DTV modulator like the VATek ENMODER DTV processor is capable of providing simple hardware design, but can also be difficult to fully utilize without the right set of tools for developers.
The new VATek ENMODER SDK is designed to abstract the complexity of TV Head-end products and provide developers with access to optimized, advanced features like media compression, streaming, program info editing and the most importantly, modulator settings, and to simplify development while helping them attain improved product performance and efficiency with VATek chips. The SDK is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2016 through VATek technical service channel.
For the first time, many new technologies that are crucial for an optimal DTV head-ends will be supported in the VATek ENMODER SDK. These include:
ENMODER F/W improvement & New released API tools: Utilizing the full breadth of technologies built into VATek ENMODER, the New firmware enables ENMODER to have 30% plus of performance and supports dual HD video compression at the same time. API for ENMODER's streaming engine is also available in this upgrade allows developers to customize program info including SI, PSI, PSIP and even Close Caption features for different countries or areas.
VATek Advance Function Pool: With VATek's years of experience in Digital TV transmission technology. VATek has created a "function pool" and is willing to provide those advanced tools and technologies to help manufactures significantly improve their products in variety of applications. Designers can purchase "License Key" from VATek, and be able to enable advanced features like pre-defined PSIP, streaming RE-MUX features or more advanced function in VATek chips.
VATek's cooperation company is working on a crowd founding project, a development board and tools will later be introduced to DATV enthusiast, SDR player or maker around Q3/E this year on Kickstarter. The New SDK will also be available for the founders. The objective of the project is to collect users' feedback and promoting VATek's product to North America and EU markets.
