Solar cell and PV module maker United Renewable Energy (URE) has made breakthrough in developing perovskite solar cells in collaboration with National Taiwan University, with energy conversion rates reaching as high as 26%, according to the company.
Perovskite solar cells are developed by combining the strengths of perovskite and crystalline silicon, as the two materials complement each other in chemical properties, URE explained.
URE said it also has developed N-type HJT and TOPCon solar cells. URE has begun shipments for HJT solar cells with a maximum energy conversion rate of 24.5% and will start small-volume production of TOPCon solar cells in 2021.
URE has reported consolidated revenues of NT$684.5 million (US$24.3 million) for February, declining 19.81% sequentially and 37.11% on year, and those of NT$1.538 billion for January-February slipped 13.52% on year.
