ASC 100: Thailand's Stark Corporation buys Vietnam cables companies for US$240 million

Founded in 1968 in Bangkok, Thailand, Stark Corporation has been manufacturing and distributing electric wires for more than 50 years. The company also manufactures aluminum and copper conductor and handles human resource business.

In April 2020, Stark bought off Vietnam's Thinh Phat Cables JSC (Thipha) and Dong Viet Non-Ferrous Metal and Plastic JSC (Dovina) with a total of US$240 million.

According to Dealstreetasia, the acquisition will enhance Stark's influence in the cord and cable industry in the region. Stark not only makes cable, but it also involves real estate, construction, petroleum refining, communication and telecommunication, logistics, and human resources.
