Global OSAT revenues are expected to rise 8% on year in 2024, driven by growing shipments of consumer electronics.
Abstract

Inventory correction in the electronics market had a strong impact on the global semiconductor industry in 2023, and as a result, the global outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) sector saw a revenue decline of 14% in 2023, reaching US$35 billion.

In 2024, shipments of handsets, notebooks/desktops, and other products will rebound and stimulate semiconductor demand. DIGITIMES Research estimates that global OSAT revenue will return to the growth track in 2024, with an annual increase of approximately 8%.

In terms of investment trends, firms will shift focus to Southeast Asia in response to geopolitical pressures. And they will devote substantial resources to developing advanced packaging technology that can cater to new applications and drive future revenue growth.
