SMIC reports improved consumer electronics demand; geopolitical tensions boost performance

SMIC held an earnings call on August 9, saying that demand for consumer electronics was improving, and smartphone makers were building their inventories. Its customers placed orders for SMIC to mitigate geopolitical risks.
