According to Gogoro's press release, Nebula Energy and Gogoro have announced the upcoming launch of Gogoro's battery-swapping technology and Smartscooters in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal, scheduled for October 2024. This announcement was made at the NADA Auto Show in Kathmandu.

The collaboration will introduce two new models to Nepal: the Gogoro Pulse and JEGO Smartscooters, alongside the existing CrossOver GX250, which will be exclusively available through Nebula Energy.

Additionally, the companies revealed plans to establish 45 battery-swapping stations across the Kathmandu Valley. The partnership follows a successful pilot program that began in April 2024, which involved strategic B2B partners Foodmandu and Jum Jum.

Horace Luke, founder and CEO of Gogoro, emphasized Nepal's commitment to clean energy and the country's incentives for electric two-wheel vehicles. He highlighted the goal of surpassing the number of gas stations with battery-swapping stations as part of Nepal's sustainable transportation transformation.

Manoj Goyal, chairman of Nebula Energy, affirmed the company's dedication to supporting Nepal's zero-emission targets through sustainable mobility and technology in partnership with Gogoro.

Sahayu Goyal, managing director of Nebula, noted that technology is crucial for the mass adoption of electric two-wheelers. He highlighted how Gogoro's battery-swapping solution addresses key consumer concerns.

Nebula Energy will open the first Gogoro showroom in Kathmandu in September 2024, where customers can test-ride the scooters and make pre-bookings at an introductory price for October delivery.

The 45 battery-swapping stations will be strategically positioned every 2-3 kilometers at petrol stations, malls, and other key locations to maximize accessibility for riders. Nebula Energy aims to eventually exceed the number of petrol stations with its battery-swapping stations in Nepal. Nebula Energy is currently offering battery-swapping services to select B2B partners for the GX250 models.
