China's top-3 outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) firms generated aggregated total revenues of CNY45.6 billion in 2020, growing 14% from a year ago.
Going into 2021, with continuingly tight supply of 5G, notebook, server and automotive chips, the top-3 OSAT firms can expect their combined revenues to soar 20% from the prior year to reach a historical high.
Although COVID-19 temporarily disrupted the top-3 OSAT firms' capacity utilization, their customers stepping up orders for IC assembly and test services enabled their capacity utilization to rapidly rebound in second-half 2020 and fueled their 2020 revenue growth.
