According to a DIGITIMES Research survey, the global top five notebook brands (not including Apple) experienced a 26% month-over-month decrease in shipments for October 2024 (not including detachable models).
Channel retailers' inventory deployment in Europe and North America for the year-end holidays weakened, resulting in weaker-than-usual seasonal shipments for October 2024. However, compared to the same month in 2023, there was a 4% growth, marking the third consecutive month of positive growth.
In October, among the top five notebook brands, only Dell experienced growth in shipments since its enterprise model shipments surged nearly 30% compared to the previous month, indicating a more noticeable wave of upgrades in business machines. Meanwhile, Lenovo and Hewlett-Packard (HP) faced significant declines in shipments as demand in major consumer markets during the peak season was weaker than expected.
