Global semiconductor revenues are expected to rise 13.6% on year in 2025, surpassing US$700 billion, but US policies may still impact the performance.
Abstract

The global semiconductor industry's revenue will likely grow 13.4% year-on-year to surpass over US$700 billion in 2025, and AI applications will remain the key driver of industry growth, fueling continued demand for AI and memory chips, according to DIGITIMES.

However, with Donald Trump returning to the White House, the uncertainty about US trade and technology policies is rising rapidly, which may negatively impact the global semiconductor industry.

Since the US tightened semiconductor technology export controls in 2022, its competitive advantage in the semiconductor industry has further expanded. DIGITIMES forecasts that the US semiconductor revenue will account for 60% of the market share in 2025. Among the key players, Nvidia is expected to maintain its leading position in the global semiconductor industry due to its dominance in the AI chip market, further widening its gap against competitors.
