Apple will ship an estimated four million 9.7-inch iPad Pros during the first half of 2016. The 9.7-inch iPad Air 2 will account for the largest portion of all iPads shipped in the first half of 2016 mainly because retail prices will drop to US$399.
The iPad Air 2's price drop is expected to impact demand for the 7.9-inch iPad Mini 4, according to Digitimes Research.
Since the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, priced at US$799 had a price gap of US$300 with the iPad Air 2, priced at US$499, in 2015, Apple's release of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro has filled in its product line.
