News highlights 0

Over the last couple of years, the turmoil created by the pandemic has specifically declined revenue and B2C sales. This factor, paired with remote working and elongated sales cycles, has driven competition to a new ferocity. To help Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) survive and prosper after the epidemic, the Taipei City Government's Department of Economic Development in collaboration with Microsoft Taiwan, WiAdvance Technology and other 27 information service providers as well as industry experts, promoting the "Introducing SMEs to the Application of Digital Services Program."

The program aims to help SMEs with an initial digital footing and potential for chain retailing or franchising implement new technologies and cloud services that will enable them to transform themselves through the application of cloud computing and face the post-pandemic era. Mobilizing digital transformation consultants from industry, government, and academia to provide digital guidance, education, networking opportunities, and advice to tailor real-world transformation plans for SMEs.

During the past few months, the Taipei City Government hosted a series of sessions with industry experts who shared their knowledge and experiences, as well as information service networking sessions to assist enterprises in their digital transformation goals and solution planning. Other program items include conducting an in-depth analysis of the digital transformation needs of SMEs and bringing together information service providers from areas such as AI data analytics, digital payments, retail management systems, membership benefits, and smart robots through face-to-face meetings and on-site visits. It provides SMEs the opportunity to learn and matchmaking exchanges, or they can utilize a cloud-based platform to search for appropriate solutions to their transformation problems.

The consulting workshops will be held to assist enterprises in the retail, food and beverage, and other service industries with potential for chain retailing or franchising to develop transformation strategies based on their actual business conditions. The consultants will not only share real-world experiences, but also listen to the business ideas and problems of participating SMEs to help them define their digital transformation goals, problems, and implementation methods. They will also provide customized solutions for the application of digital services through interviews and on-site visits to aid the industry's transition from traditional to digital methods and facilitate the transformation of SMEs.

The Taipei City Government is looking to attract retail chains in the food and beverage, education, arts and culture, tourism, and beauty care sectors to participate in "Introducing SMEs to the Application of Digital Services Program," (https://www.stbear.com.tw/WiAdvance/). The goal is to help them successfully implement Microsoft 365 services, PSI management systems, Power BI operational data analytics, and other transformation solutions. In order to meet the marketing needs of various SMBs, the Taipei City Government will keep organizing more industrial activities in the future to promote new business models and facilitate the digital transformation of Taiwan.
