Gartner Dataquest: Global handset demand to reach 610 million units this year

With strong sales growth expected in the fourth quarter of this year, global handset shipments will reach 610 million units by year-end, from 521 million in 2003, according to Ben Wood, a Gartner Dataquest analyst.
