At the end of the third quarter of 2006, Taiwan’s small- to medium-size TFT LCD shipments began rising significantly thanks to rebounding demand for portable devices – mobile phones, digital still cameras (DSCs), portable DVD players, etc – and that late demand helped overall shipments from the region increase 20.2% sequentially, compared with our previous forecast of 18.7%.
