UMC dismisses rumors it is targeted by ATIC for acquisition

United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) has declined to comment on a media report indicating that the company is being targeted by Advanced Technology Investment Company (ATIC) for acquisition, stating it is purely market speculation.
