Mouser joins China electronics distributor alliance

Press release

Mouser Electronics, a design engineering resource and global distributor for semiconductors and electronic components, has announced its role as a founding member of the China Electronics Distributor Alliance (CEDA).

CEDA's mission is to represent franchised distribution services in the China market, to strengthen cooperation between distributors and suppliers, encourage technical and service innovation, and work with the Chinese government to shape policies. The non-profit organization serves the needs of franchised electronics component distributors with operations in Greater China.

"The market in China is critical to Mouser's business as well as the whole electronics Industry and CEDA will help greatly to strengthen the importance of the authorized distribution channel in China," said Mark Burr-Lonnon, Mouser VP of APAC Business. "Last year, Mouser saw revenues increase by more than 150% in Asia, led of course by China and we expect similar substantial growth this year, too."

Currently, Mouser has 16 global customer support locations, including Asian branches in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Bangalore.

"Whether we are dealing with suppliers, engineers or buyers, our business model is very customer focused," concluded Burr-Lonnon. "Every day, our mission is to be the source most preferred by engineers and small production buyers for the products to design, prototype, test and manufacture electronic products.''

For three consecutive years in 2008, 2009 and 2010, Mouser has received top awards in China including being named China's Most Preferred Distributor from Global Sources.
