ViewSonic, a US-based visual solution provider, has unveiled its latest Educational Technology innovations at the British Educational Training and Technology Show (BETT) 2022 in London.
Among ViewSonic's latest solutions was myViewBoard Sens AI sensor technology, which can detect students' attentiveness by analyzing their movements and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity. Meanwhile, Universe by ViewSonic is an interactive 3D world built for learning in the metaverse.
ViewSonic chairman James Chu pointed out that the company has developed a complete educational technology solution ecosystem by integrating hardware and software. Its myViewBoard platform, which was designed to digitalize the education industry, currently has more than five million registered users around the world, he said.
ViewSonic has also been following the trend of AI and metaverse applications for 3D interactive learning, and it has offered related solutions to educators based on their individual needs, Chu added.
Chu explained that myViewBoard Sens utilizes cameras and sensors to monitor student engagement and foster an active learning environment. Besides having the ability to analyze environmental factors that may affect students' focus, the technology can detect the occupancy rate of a classroom, audience masking, and close contact index, he said.
To help schools manage classrooms more easily, myViewBoard Sens also features a dashboard that calculates the engagement levels in a classroom, Chu noted, adding that the dashboard will offer tailored suggestions for teachers to adjust their lesson plans or teaching environment if the ratings are less than ideal.
Meanwhile, Universe by ViewSonic, an interactive 3D world for education, was first conceived in the first quarter of 2021 to address the challenges of using remote learning tools and applications during the COVID-19 pandemic, ViewSonic said.
The company said that some educational institutions in the US, Europe, and Asia have adopted Universe by ViewSonic to assist their teaching, and that it is currently seeking new partners to forge the future of learning.
As part of its Educational Technology solution ecosystem, ViewSonic's myViewBoard digital learning platform is cloud-based and compatible with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Android, and the latest iOS.
In addition, ViewSonic developed the .olf file format as an extension of the company's open-ecosystem approach and to solve file-conversion and compatibility issues.
ViewSonic stressed that its ViewBoard series of interactive display panels, ranging in sizes from 24 to 100 inches, can be applied to different classroom spaces. For larger venues such as a school auditorium, it offers 108- to 216-inch All-in-One LED displays and projectors that can display images of up to 300 inches in size, the company said.
