Adata partners with Advantech for autonomous robot

Taiwan-based Adata Technology has partnered with Advantech to develop an AI Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) using Nvidia's Nova Orin. This advanced AMR integrates upper and lower computers into a single unit, reducing deployment time by 70% and speeding up the process threefold.

Adata highlighted that in collaboration with Advantech, they successfully deployed the C-Rob SMR for disinfection in a leading hospital in Taiwan. This initiative has significantly reduced the hospital's cleaning manpower and assisted labor-intensive industries in adopting AMRs to combat labor shortages.

Through the integration of AI technology, the robot can automatically identify objects and environments, selecting the most suitable disinfection method. On average, using an autonomous robot for disinfection can save 4-6 personnel per night, significantly reducing the hospital's cleaning manpower burden and improving the efficiency and quality of environmental disinfection operations.

This project showcases Adata's capabilities in developing AMR chassis technology and software. By integrating automated control, cameras, sensors, chassis design, and AI software technology, Adata has completed the simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technology for AMRs, enabling them to operate smoothly in various environments and meet the disinfection needs of different industries.

Adata plans to incorporate the Advantech MIC-732-AO in the next-generation Adata AMR chassis system. This integration accelerates the incorporation of camera sensors and enhances the system's capabilities in obstacle avoidance and object recognition. Adata has also integrated NVIDIA Isaac Perceptor, creating a comprehensive system for perception, localization, and navigation, significantly speeding up AMR deployment.

Advantech and Adata will continue their collaboration. The next step involves working with Nvidia to integrate Nvidia Omniverse to simulate the AMR's working environment to further reduce the time required for AMR deployment.
