Atmel has announced its picoPower AVR ATtiny10, with 1K bytes of programmable flash memory and 32 bytes of internal SRAM with up to 12 MIPS of processing throughput, 8-bit A/D converter, analog comparator, and a 16-bit timer with PWM.
Atmel claims the ATtiny10 provides six times the performance of any other similar sized microcontroller in the market.
Samples of the ATtiny10 are available now. Volume price for 10,000 units is US$0.35.
