Gigabyte has released the X299 Designare EX motherboard optimized to support the Intel 8th Gen Core i9 7980XE processor. The motherboard brings back features such as RGB Fusion, Smart Fan 5 while adding Intel Thunderbolt 3 technology, RDIMM support, and other exciting features.
The X299 Designare EX provides full support for 18-core Intel i9 7980XE processor, maximizing the effectiveness of its server-grade VRM design with 12 power phases, each supplying up to 60 amps of power, according to the vendor. The motherboard has registered DIMM (RDIMM) support, allowing for data integrity and ensuring that users' ongoing projects are completed without unexpected data errors. The higher density of RDIMMs also makes way for vast RAM capacity.
The X299 Deginare EX provides full support for Intel Thunderbolt 3 technology via two USB 3.1 Type-C connectors. The motherboard provides users with dual Intel Gbe LAN and the additional flexibility of dual band 802.11ac Wi-Fi. Multiple USB 3.0 and 2.0 connectors are also included for added connectivity, the vendor said.
