Taiwan-based ITO glass maker AimCore Technology recorded gross margin of 29.13% for the third quarter of 2012, almost double the 15.8% posted in the first half of the year, as well as revenues of NT$357 million (US$12.0 million), net operating profit of NT$84.7 million and net EPS of NT$1.05 for the quarter.

As there will be strong demand for medium- to large-sized touch panels in the fourth quarter arising from Windows 8, AimCore expects its existing production capacity to be insufficient to meet orders and its revenues for October to be the highest monthly level in 2012, the company indicated.

Taiwan-based touch panel maker Mutto Optronics posted consolidated revenues of NT$1.014 billion, gross margin of 3.35%, net profit of NT$16 million and net EPS of NT$0.24 for the third quarter, the company noted. However, Mutto suffered gross margin of negative 2.28% and net loss per share of 0.92 for January-September.

J Touch, another Taiwan-based touch panel maker, posted consolidated revenues of NT$1.34 billion, gross margin of negative 0.59% and net loss per share of NT$1.86 for the third quarter as well as net operating loss of NT$738 million, net loss of NT$745 million and net loss per share of NT$6.93 for January-September. J Touch currently has a total monthly production capacity of 8-9 million touch panels in Taiwan and China, the company indicated.
