AUO reduces capex by 50% for 2009

Due to the global economic downturn, LCD panel maker AU Optronics (AUO) will reduce its 2009 capital expenditure (capex) to only NT$50 billion (US$1.49 billion) compared to NT$100 billion in 2008, according to the company president LJ Chen.
