Taiwan Cement's (TCC) European subsidiary, Atlante, which focuses on energy storage and electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging services, has announced the establishment of Spark Alliance in collaboration with three leading charging service providers: France's Electra, the Netherlands' Fastned, and Germany's Ionity. This new alliance is currently the largest and most comprehensive EV charging station coalition in Europe.
Spark Alliance spans 25 key countries across Europe, featuring over 1,700 charging stations and 11,000 high-power charging points, all powered by renewable energy. This initiative symbolizes a significant step towards carbon neutrality for the European EV industry.
Starting from June 2025, EV owners in member countries will be able to use the charging services established by Spark Alliance through any member's app, allowing cross-brand and cross-region charging and payment without needing to switch applications or re-register.
Additionally, the four companies have integrated their entire network's charging station data into a route planning system, providing real-time site queries, transparent rates, and stable services to address the challenges faced by EV owners during international and long-distance travel.
The charging stations within Spark Alliance are fully powered by 100% renewable energy, offering European drivers a truly zero-carbon footprint charging option. The official website also states that the alliance is working on integrating member charging platforms and optimizing user experience, aiming to simplify cross-border operations and enhance platform engagement and usage frequency.
TCC stated that the alliance is expected to create a stable, long-term cash flow and scalable business model. This initiative not only represents a concrete action taken by multinational enterprises to promote net-zero transformation but also signifies an important case of international cooperation that combines ESG sustainable values with growth potential.
