:-) this is obviously not true since they just issued an update for Vista in BootCamp today!!! Way to put out those "rumors." I'm sure Apple loved proving you wrong on that one.

Wow, just five days after you guys publish this rumor, Apple releases an update for BootCamp which includes full supporto for Windows Vista. I guess this little article/rumor was usefull only to pull in more readers to the site.

This seems like another article that has got Mac users bashing Vista.
Why does everyone has to bash Microsoft at every possible opportunity. I will wait an watch to see which OS sells more, Vista or Leopard.

I run Vista on boot camp now just fine. I also run it in Parallel - but I needed bootcamp to run flight sim.

Stupid, stupid, stupid. Nobody with half a brain is jumping on the Vista bandwagon this early. A patch in October (or later) to support Vista would be fine. Microsoft might have released enough hotfixes by then to make Vista worth installing.

Sounds like BS to me. Why on earth would Apple delay shipping Leopard (which will drive Q2 profits) in order for Boot Camp to support Vista?
Apple could easily release an update to Boot Camp in October without delaying Leopard. Propaganda and lies.

Nonsense. It doesn't take six months to recode bootcamp. That's just nuts and a horrible excuse, even for Apple. I'd put money down that the boys in Cuptertino could have bootcamp modified in 1-2 days, at most.

This is a garbage FUD article. Parallels desktop can already run Vista on a Mac. Lets be real - nobody much cares about Vista. New vista sales are forced ones for people buying brand new systems, not people upgrading, so XP support is sufficient.

I agree with the first post. Upgrading a brand new ThinkPad Z61p from XP to Vista was a MAJOR headache, and it won't even run on a top-end three year old ThinkPad! And, once it runs, it is really just a re-hashed version of XP. What's the point???

What a load of rubbish. Bootcamp already supports Vista as does Parallels. April was never the due date, but Spring, which extends to June 21. If Vista support was weak, it is far more likely that a software update would fix any problems.

Apple's Leopard isn't ready for April release because Leopard is still an early beta in quality. On the other hand, Apple has looked at how Parallels and VMWare products are progressing, and how popular they are, and want to make it 'even better.'

Ok, BootCamp (software) might be a slight minor detail they have to fine tune. But I think the real problem comes from hardware, specifically graphics. They need DirectX 10-board suppliers, and of course make "Leo" software compatible with DX10

Vista has less market share than Windows 98. HP has had to back down to customer demands for Windows XP instead of Vista on new computers. The demand for Vista is negligable... unless Steve's applied the RDF to himself there's no way this is true.

Ludicrous rumor. 1. Apple knows Vista will be slowly adopted. 2. Leopard is a Vista alternative, so shipping early is important. 3. Apple could support Vista in Leopard point release. 4. Parallels already provides Vista support to Intel Macs. DUH.

This sounds like a lot of nonsense to me. Apple can release a downloadable update for Boot Camp and OSX Leopard at a later date without holding up the Spring release. Too many firms have built products around Leopard for Apple to allow this.

THIS IS JUST WRONG. Steve Jobs is going to postpone making money so he can be compatible with Bill Gates? Vista is less compatible with 2003 Server than Mac OS X. Ex. Vista Home * can't join domains, OS X can. Its about switchers, not compatibility.

I can't imagine why on earth Apple would delay Leopard for this reason when the *majority* of upgraders will be coming from Tiger, not Windows. And by 6 months?! Boot Camp improvements could easily be introduced through Software Update. Crazy rumor.

No way Apple will delay Leopard to support Vista. That is just a ridiculous speculation. If it really wanted, it would just release a PATCH months later to support Vista. No way would they delay the ENTIRE OS for Vista support.
