CULV wasn't marketed and now people are looking for thin and light larger screened notebooks. Ultrabooks will take off only if Intel & OEMs know how to market them properly.

What do you mean the CULV-based ultra-thin notebooks were a failure? I thought that whole series of laptop was great. I loved my Asus UL30A and convinced a friend to get an Acer TimelineX. Ultrabooks are just an evolution of that concept.
