Asustek Computer has launched its A686 and A696 ultra-slim GPS PDAs. These palm-sized devices are only 1.57-cm thick, with full GPS functionality without a protruding antenna, and are encased in stainless steel instead of plastic.
Information is displayed on an anti-glare 3.5-inch color screen. The GPS module uses the latest SiRF Star III chipset.
The A686 runs on an Intel XScale 312Mhz processor, 128MB flash ROM, and 64MB SDRAM, while the A696 runs on an Intel XScale 416Mhz processor, 256MB flash ROM, and 64MB SDRAM.
