Eson Precision Engineering, an IT product design and manufacturing arm of Foxconn Technology, is adjusting the production priority of its two plants in Kuala Lumpur and Johor, respectively, in Malaysia to cope with the local COVID prevention control measures, according to the company.

The operation of the Kuala Lumpur plant has been suspended until July 16 following the local disease prevention policies, said the company, noting that the Johor plant is operating at 60% of its capacity.

The two plants currently focus on rolling out chassis and related parts and components for TVs and servers.

As a result, it has to make appropriate adjustments to its current production schedules by transferring some of the orders from the Kula Lumper plant to the Johor site, said the company.

Meanwhile, the company has applied to the local government to allow its factory in Kula Lumper to resume operation as all plant employees have been staying within the factory premises and its operations should not cause infections with segregated working schedules and appropriate management.

It stressed that the impacts of its plants in Malaysia on its overall performance would be limited as it also maintains production bases in China, Europe, Mexico and other locations that can offer customized production support to clients worldwide.
