The news regarding many people using Airbnb platforms to send money to support the people in Ukraine inspired Taiwan-based cycling app startup Velodash to organize a Peace Ride on March 5, hoping to galvanize support for Ukraine.

As of March 9, the Ukraine Relief Fund set up by Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs received more than NT$300 million of donations in five days, reflecting Taiwan's heartfelt empathy for the agony of Ukraine's people during the crisis.

"We hope to show our support for Ukraine and call for the war to end as soon as possible, may peace be restored to Ukraine and its people," said Molley Huang, co-founder and CEO of Velodash.

About 40 cyclists responded to the Peace Ride call, which had been announced just three days before the event. It took them 2-3 hours to finish the 27-kilometer ride across Taipei and New Taipei City to form the shape of a dove.

The Velodash platform allows cyclists to see the locations of event participants and trace itineraries in real time. Cyclists also can post screenshots on social media to call for the support of their friends. As the platform is available for cyclists worldwide, it is a very convenient tool with which users can organize group cycling activities or plan their own individual cycling tours.
