Wistron to open second Victory plant in Vietnam in 1Q25, eye existing facility expansion

Taiwan-based Wistron, a leading electronics manufacturer and Apple supplier is set to begin operations for its US$24.5 million investment in Ha Nam Province, Vietnam.

According to The Investor, Wistron aims to complete equipment installation by December 2024, targeting an operational launch in January 2025.

The Victory II facility, situated in Dong Van III Industrial Park, will span 6.8 hectares and employ 530 staff, including 400 local workers and 60 expatriates, according to updated plans as of November 2024.

Once operational, Victory II will have an annual production capacity of 3 million LCD panels, 5.87 million notebooks, 374,400 desktop computers, 1.2 million VoIP phones, 300,000 motherboards, and additional products.

Wistron's board of directors officially announced the Victory II project on August 4, 2023.

Preceding Victory II, Wistron invested US$363.9 million in its Victory I facility, also located in Ha Nam Province, as reported by The Investor. The construction of Victory I began in April 2020, and the factory began operations in December 2021, manufacturing notebooks, motherboards, desktop computers, and camera modules.

In its first phase, Victory I achieved an annual output of 228,000 notebooks, 600,000 motherboards, 700,000 desktop computers, 100,000 webcams, and 720,000 docking stations.

The construction of the second phase of Victory I began in June 2023, with operations expected to commence in April 2025. The facility currently employs 2,900 workers, with plans to expand its workforce to 14,470 upon completion.

Following the expansion, Victory I's annual output is projected to reach 4 million notebooks, 6 million LCD panels, 1.5 million docking stations, 1 million motherboards, 2 million desktop computers, 375,000 webcams, and other products.
