InfoSec provider Radware has announced that it is launching a new cloud security center in Taiwan, its 16th global location. The new center can provide clients services with even lower latency to speed up the response to security attacks.

Radware's new safety center is located in Taipei City. It is going to assist Taiwanese clients in protecting their data centers, Internet network, mobile apps and API. Not only does it reduce latency to a minimum and improves local service quality, providing a mitigation capacity of over 10Tbps, but it also closely follows the legal process for offshore routing, Radware said.

According to Radware's VP of cloud security services business Haim Zelikovsky, the new cloud security center in Taiwan helps Radware respond to threats faster and mitigate the attacks. He also stated that the center meets the data sovereignty requirements of Taiwan's security agencies.

Alan Lee, regional director for Radware in Taiwan and Hong Kong, pointed out that Taiwan is an important hub in the Asia-Pacific region. When information security is already a national security issue, a new cloud security center can further protect businesses and government agencies from increasing Internet attacks.

Radware's 2022 first half global threat analysis report showed that the number of malicious DDoS attacks on each client saw a 203% increase compared to the first half of 2021. Each client saw a monthly average attack traffic flow of 3.39TB, a 47% increase compared to 2021.

Radware observed that the frequency of large-scale Internet attacks has decreased. However, once it occurs, the intensity and duration of the attacks have been getting stronger and longer. In the first half of 2022, the traffic of the largest blocked attack reached 1.46Tbps. The most complex pattern contained 38 types of attack vectors.
