Kaynes SemiCon has secured India's first paying customer for outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) services, a significant milestone for India's semiconductor industry. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding with Lightspeed Photonics, a Singapore-based fabless system development company, to provide advanced packaging solutions. India's government has also approved three major semiconductor projects, including two OSAT facilities, as part of its efforts to become a global semiconductor hub.

Foxconn denies low yields of made-in-India iPhones

Addressing concerns about low yield rates for iPhones manufactured in India, Foxconn chairman Young Liu clarified that current yields are comparable to those in China. He dismissed the rumors as unfounded, pointing out that if the yield rates were as low as reported, Foxconn would have already ceased operations in India. Even if Foxconn had persisted, clients would have demanded a change.
